Tehran (Monitoring Desk): Several explosions were heard in the maritime area near Iran's Qeshm Island, while the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that its Aerospace Force intercepted an enemy fighter jet and forced it to leave the area.
According to foreign media reports, the IRGC said three tankers caught fire after striking naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz. The British maritime agency also reported a fire aboard a vessel in the Strait of Hormuz near Oman.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim Azizi, head of the Iranian Parliament's National Security Committee, warned that the United States would face a strong response if it attacked Iran. He said Iran would use all its available military capabilities and respond in accordance with its national interests and military strategy.
Ibrahim Azizi further stated that Iran would also make its decision regarding the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) in accordance with its national interests.
