US Responsible for Tensions in Strait of Hormuz, Says Iran

Tehran (Monitoring Desk): Iran has told the United Nations Security Council that military operations by the United States and Israel, along with the US naval blockade, are the main causes of maritime insecurity in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Iranian broadcaster Press TV, Iran's representative at the Security Council said that ongoing military operations by the United States and Israel, as well as the US naval blockade, had placed maritime security in the region at risk.

The Iranian representative said Washington's actions could not be ignored when examining the causes of maritime insecurity in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, as US policies were the primary reason behind the current situation.

Iran made these remarks at a time when concerns are growing over threats to maritime traffic and global oil supplies amid rising tensions in the region.
