Shandur (Sports Desk) The polo festival 2026 in the high mountainous fields of Shandur continued in full swing on the second day with exciting matches. In a thrilling encounter, the Chitral team defeated the Gilgit team by one goal. In the match, Chitral scored three goals while Gilgit scored two goals. Both teams displayed excellent performance, and the spectators watched the contest with great interest.
This festival is being organized with the cooperation of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan governments and the Pakistan Army. The chief guest of the opening ceremony, the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, termed it important for national unity, cultural harmony, and the promotion of tourism. On the opening day, a closely contested match was played between traditional rivals Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan, while spectators highly appreciated the performance of the players.
