Mumbai (Showbiz Desk) — Following the death of Bollywood actor Mushtaq Khan, his old statement regarding his remuneration for the film ‘Welcome’ has resurfaced on social media.
Mushtaq Khan played the comic character of Ballu in the 2007 comedy film ‘Welcome’. According to the actor, he was not paid the agreed remuneration by the film’s producer, Firoz Nadiadwala.
In a past conversation, Mushtaq Khan had said that initially, it was agreed that the film’s shooting would be completed in 20 to 25 days. However, after 25 days had passed, he was required to work for another 10 days and then an additional 15 days, but there was no increase in his remuneration.
He had said that Rs1 lakh was agreed upon for completing the film, whether the shooting lasted 20 days or 25 days, while the film’s crew worked on daily wages.
Despite the low remuneration, Mushtaq Khan reprised his role as Ballu in the 2015 film ‘Welcome Back’.
Mushtaq Khan passed away yesterday at the age of 56 after a prolonged illness caused by lung cancer.
