MUMBAI (Showbiz Desk): Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji has revealed that at the time of her birth, she was mistakenly taken to a Punjabi family, while the newborn daughter of that family was taken to her mother.
In an interview, Rani Mukerji shared an interesting childhood incident, explaining that after birth, nurses would take newborn babies for routine examinations and place identification tags on them. During this process, she was accidentally taken to the room of a Punjabi family.
According to the actress, her mother immediately sensed that something was wrong when she saw the other baby because the baby’s eye color was different. Her mother immediately said that the baby was not her daughter because her daughter had brown eyes, and asked that her baby be found.
Later, during the search, it was discovered that the baby with the Punjabi family was actually Rani Mukerji. The family had welcomed their eighth daughter at the time.
Rani Mukerji said that members of the family continued to jokingly tell her afterward that she was actually Punjabi and had accidentally become part of the Mukerji family.
It may be recalled that Rani Mukerji was born on March 21, 1978, to filmmaker and director Ram Mukerji and his wife, Krishna Mukerji.
