MUMBAI (Showbiz Desk): Bollywood actor Sunny Deol, in his recent remarks about Pakistan, referred to the historical and cultural ties between the two countries, saying that some form of connection certainly exists between Pakistan and India.
Sunny Deol is currently busy promoting his new film Batwara (1947), which is based on historical events that took place during the Partition of India. The film will be released worldwide, except in Pakistan, on August 14, 2026.
During the promotional campaign, a journalist asked Sunny Deol whether the film had been shot in Pakistan and what he thought about Pakistan, its environment, and its people.
The actor replied that the film was not shot in Pakistan and that all scenes were filmed in India. He said his father used to tell him that if India was his mother, then Pakistan was his mother’s sister, or maternal aunt, and therefore some form of relationship certainly exists between the two countries.
Following Sunny Deol’s remarks, several social media users praised his stance as balanced.
