Lahore (Pakistan News): Under the initiative of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Rs 310 million has been allocated for the ‘She Threads’ program.
The project aims to promote economic empowerment and skill development of rural women in the textile sector, providing better employment opportunities for women across the province.
Under the program, women aged 18 to 45 years from rural areas who have at least middle-level education are eligible to participate. During training, participants will also be provided with a monthly stipend and transportation allowance.
Officials said the initiative includes 10 different training courses related to the textile industry, including stitching, quality control, cutting, drafting, and merchandising.
Over the past two years, thousands of women have completed training under this program, many of whom have already secured employment immediately after completion.
Authorities further stated that a large number of women are currently undergoing training in various courses, while more participants will be included in the coming year.
The Chief Minister of Punjab said that the government’s goal is to make women financially independent, adding that skilled women can play a key role in strengthening the national economy.
