Actor Imran Khan Offers Unconditional Apology to Bombay High Court Over Protest Participation

MUMBAI (Showbiz Desk): Bollywood actor Imran Khan has tendered an unconditional apology to the Bombay High Court over his alleged participation in a protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

In an affidavit submitted to the court, the actor maintained that he had no intention of participating in the protest and had only gone there to see what was happening. He clarified that he neither made any demands nor intended to become part of the protest movement.

In his statement, Imran Khan said he had deep affection for India and its Constitution and respected the laws of the country. He stated that he had spent 40 of his 42 years in India and had always abided by the law.

The actor’s legal team also submitted a signed apology to the court, along with an assurance that he would not participate in any protest in the future. Imran Khan said he would neither take part in any demonstration himself nor directly or indirectly encourage anyone else to participate in such protests.

It is worth mentioning that a demonstration was held on October 10 at Mumbai’s August Kranti Maidan against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, demanding his resignation over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. During the protest, Mumbai Police had also briefly detained actor Imran Khan.
