ISLAMABAD (Commerce Desk): A major development has taken place to boost industrial growth, investment and exports in Pakistan, as the Karachi Industrial Park has been approved as a federal Special Economic Zone (SEZ) with the support of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
The SIFC continues its reform efforts to facilitate business activities and attract greater investment in the industrial sector. In this regard, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar and SIFC officials held a meeting with a delegation from the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).
The meeting discussed business facilitation, improvements to digital systems, the Ease of Doing Business programme and ways to fully utilise Sindh’s economic and development potential.
The approved Karachi Industrial Park will offer access to the port, modern infrastructure and special incentives for export-oriented industries.
These measures are expected to help increase industrial investment, improve business competitiveness and promote Pakistan’s exports.
