New York (Web Desk) Artificial intelligence company Anthropic has announced the shutdown of two of its advanced AI models for all users. The decision was taken following instructions issued by the US government, which directed that access to these models for foreign users be restricted.
According to the company, it received instructions related to export restrictions, under which access to the Fable Five and Mythos Five models for users outside the country must be immediately terminated. The company said it was not provided with complete details regarding the potential risk.
According to officials, these models may contain a possible vulnerability that could allow security systems to be bypassed. Concerns have been raised that this weakness could be misused to identify software vulnerabilities.
Anthropic said it was only verbally informed about the potential risk; however, no clear evidence was provided in this regard.
