Electric Passenger Aircraft Completes Successful 27-Minute Flight in New York

New York (Web Desk) Due to rising prices of petrol, diesel and jet fuel, global aircraft manufacturers are focusing on developing passenger aircraft powered by electricity.

As part of this effort, US company Heart Aerospace has developed a 30-seat electric aircraft called “X1,” which is 76 feet long and weighs 25,000 pounds.

Recently, the aircraft completed its first successful flight in New York. The aircraft remained airborne for 27 minutes at an altitude of approximately 1,100 feet using only battery power.

According to the company, only $5 was spent on electricity during the test flight, which is extremely low compared with the cost of conventional jet fuel.

The successful test flight of the electric aircraft is being described as an important development toward the use of electric-powered aircraft in passenger aviation.
