TEHRAN (Monitoring Desk) – Iran’s Supreme Security Council has stated that mine clearance operations in the Strait of Hormuz will be carried out under the Islamabad agreement.
According to a statement issued by the council, the Persian Gulf Strait Authority will issue permits to regulate the movement of ships in order to ensure an effective system for commercial and other maritime traffic passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
The statement added that all vessels will be required to follow designated routes and timings set by the authority to ensure safe and orderly maritime navigation in the region.
