Islamabad (Pakistan News) — The Islamabad High Court has extended its order stopping the collection of an additional 50 percent toll tax from vehicles without M-Tag or those having low balance.
The hearing of the petition challenging the notification for additional toll tax collection was held under Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir, during which the National Highway Authority (NHA) submitted its written response to the court.
During the proceedings, the court asked the petitioner’s lawyer whether he had received a copy of the NHA’s response. The lawyer replied that the response had just been received and he had not yet been able to review it completely.
The NHA’s lawyer requested the court to combine the case with another similar matter that is also under hearing. Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir remarked that the court was aware of the other case, but both petitions were separate.
Later, the court extended its interim order stopping the recovery of 50 percent additional toll tax from vehicles without M-Tag or with insufficient balance and adjourned the hearing.
