ISLAMABAD (Pakistan News): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met in Islamabad with Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) who recently returned after completing advanced training courses in China and Türkiye.
During the meeting, the ASPs briefed the minister about their experiences regarding modern policing methods, surveillance systems, use of technology, and law and order management during their foreign training.
The Interior Minister said that foreign training programs for police officers would continue on a permanent basis to enhance their professional capabilities. He also announced the launch of a pilot project to establish a Law Enforcement Investigation Centre in Islamabad on the Chinese model.
According to Mohsin Naqvi, the centre will provide facilities for detention, investigation, and summary trials at a single location, enabling the speedy resolution of minor criminal cases.
He said that policing would be made more effective through modern technology and surveillance systems. Advanced drones will be added to the Aviation Wing of the Ministry of Interior for crime prevention, while specialized investigative training facilities will be established at the National Police Academy.
The Interior Minister further said that modern investigation training, interrogation techniques, and police models of developed countries would be included in the training system. The meeting was attended by the Commandant of the National Police Academy, DG FIA, and other senior officials.
