New Delhi (Monitoring Desk) India’s Foreign Ministry response to Pakistan’s stance regarding alleged ties between the Afghan Taliban regime and India has sparked a new debate. Responding to a journalist’s question about the statement of Pakistan’s military spokesperson, an Indian Foreign Ministry representative rejected the claims, calling them disappointing.
It is worth mentioning that during a visit to India, an Afghan Taliban minister had claimed that the Afghan Taliban and India share a similar “DNA.”
In a press conference, the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) had stated that Pakistan was aware of the close relationship between the Afghan Taliban and India regarding the issue of terrorism. He questioned their ties, saying that India and the Afghan Taliban regime have similarities in their interests.
The DG ISPR further stated that under the Hindutva ideology, actions are being taken against Muslims and the people of Kashmir in India, while he also accused the Afghan Taliban regime of damaging the image of Islam through its policies and actions.
Experts say that differences among Pakistan, India, and Afghanistan over terrorism, political influence, and security issues continue to exist. They add that the role of various groups and regional powers remains a subject of international discussion.
Pakistani officials maintain that certain militant groups are benefiting from support networks operating from Afghan territory, while statements from the Afghan Taliban government regarding relations with India have also remained a source of political tension between the two countries.
