Washington (Web Desk): NASA and the Space Weather Prediction Center have issued a strong geomagnetic storm alert after a powerful solar eruption from the Sun began moving toward Earth.
According to experts, the Sun has been showing unusual activity for several days, continuously releasing energy and magnetic particles from its surface.
On June 6, 2026, a strong medium-level solar flare was recorded in an active region of the Sun, which released a large cloud of charged particles into space.
Scientists say this fast-moving solar material is heading toward Earth at a speed of approximately 1,400 kilometers per second, leading to a predicted Level 3 geomagnetic storm intensity.
Experts explain that when solar particles collide with Earth’s magnetic field, they produce colorful lights in the sky known as auroras.
They added that if the storm intensifies, these lights could also be visible outside polar regions, including parts of China, India, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States.
Scientists further noted that the final impact of the storm will be assessed once the solar particles reach satellites near Earth, which will provide more accurate data about potential effects.
