Islamabad (Commerce Desk) The Federal Board of Revenue (Federal Board of Revenue) has proposed the establishment of an independent case scrutiny committee for examining tax appeals in the Finance Bill.
According to the proposal, it would be mandatory to obtain approval from this committee before filing any tax appeal in the High Court or Supreme Court, and the FBR would not be allowed to proceed with appeals without its authorization.
The Finance Bill also includes a proposal to introduce a new oversight system for judicial review of tax disputes.
The proposed committee would be responsible for the initial examination and scrutiny of all tax cases, including income tax and sales tax matters, with the aim of making the review process more structured and effective.
