Seoul (Web Desk): A well-known tipster Ice Universe, who provides accurate information about Samsung, has claimed that the company is considering discontinuing its Galaxy Z Flip foldable smartphone series, with the Galaxy Z Flip 8 potentially becoming the final model in the lineup.
Although similar rumors have circulated in the past, this claim has attracted attention in technology circles this time due to its emergence from a relatively reliable source.
According to reports, one major reason behind this possible decision is the rising cost of RAM and other electronic components, which has significantly increased the production cost of foldable smartphones.
Recently, Motorola also cited expensive components as the reason behind increasing the prices of its Razr 70 and Razr 70 Ultra models.
On the other hand, the availability of flip-style foldable phones in Western markets, including Europe and the United States, is also becoming limited. Several companies, including Oppo, Xiaomi, Vivo, and Honor, have either stopped selling such phones or are not introducing them outside China. As a result, currently only Samsung and Motorola are selling this type of foldable phone.
However, all these reports are still based on unconfirmed rumors, and Samsung has not made any official announcement regarding the matter. According to experts, instead of completely ending the series, the company may temporarily halt its sale or delay a new offering after the Galaxy Z Flip 8.
