Tehran reacts strongly to reports on frozen Iranian assets

Tehran (Monitoring Desk) Iran has strongly reacted to reports suggesting that the United States may transfer frozen Iranian assets to its Gulf allies.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said that regional governments have no legal or moral basis to demand any form of compensation. He stated that Iran’s frozen assets are neither war resources for the United States nor financial funds for its allies.

The reaction came after an international news agency, citing sources, reported that the US is considering reallocating frozen Iranian assets to Gulf partner countries to compensate for alleged damages.

According to the report, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has instructed his team to prepare a detailed assessment of losses incurred by Gulf states.

The development comes amid ongoing political and diplomatic tensions in the region, where a lack of trust between parties continues to persist.
