CALIFORNIA (Turkiye Khabar) – Meta’s social media platform Threads has surpassed the important milestone of 500 million monthly active users.
The platform was initially launched as an alternative to X (formerly Twitter). According to reports, Threads has gained around 100 million new users since last August, reflecting its rapid rise in popularity.
Experts say that strong integration with Instagram has made it easier for users to switch to the platform, while Meta’s recently introduced Communities feature has also played a significant role in this growth.
Following the achievement of 500 million users, the company has officially moved the Communities feature out of its beta phase. Several new features are also being added to the platform.
Under the latest updates, each community will now have a unique identity icon, while a new Communities Hub is being developed to allow users to easily access groups based on their interests.
In addition, the Community Progress feature will help users identify which topics are close to forming full communities and how they can contribute to that process.
The company also plans to expand its Live Chats feature to more communities in the coming weeks, allowing users to share key moments directly on their feeds during live conversations.
Analysts say Threads is no longer just an alternative platform but has become a strong and permanent competitor in the global social media market.
