Transport fares reduced by up to 15% after diesel price cut

Islamabad (Commerce Desk) Following a reduction in diesel prices, the All Pakistan Public Transport Owners Federation has announced a 15% decrease in bus fares.

Earlier, goods transporters had also announced a 15% cut in fares, while the Mini Mazda Goods Transport Association reduced fares by 10%.

After the reduction in petroleum product prices, changes in transport fares are being observed in different cities. Transporters in Gujranwala have reduced fares, while intercity fares in Muzaffargarh remain unchanged.

Meanwhile, citizens in Peshawar have expressed concern over the non-reduction of fares and demanded immediate action from the district administration.

Transporters say that due to the absence of a new fare notification from the Regional Transport Authority, full implementation of revised fares has not yet been possible.
