Islamabad (Web Desk) WhatsApp has started rolling out a new feature for Android users that makes it easier to manage and delete media files downloaded from channels, helping users free up storage space on their mobile devices.
According to the technology website WhatsApp Beta Info, the Channel Storage Cleanup feature is currently being rolled out gradually to users of the Android beta version. Therefore, it will not be immediately available to all beta users.
Previously, users had to go into WhatsApp settings and select channel media files individually for deletion. With the new feature, images, videos, stickers, and voice notes can now be filtered into different categories, allowing unnecessary content to be removed more quickly.
WhatsApp has introduced two methods for using this feature. In the first method, users can open the Channel Information screen to view and delete saved media files from a specific channel.
Under the second method, users can select one or multiple channels from the Updates tab and use the Clear Media Files option to delete media from several channels at once.
This new feature will be particularly useful for users who follow multiple WhatsApp channels and whose phone storage fills up quickly due to downloaded media files.
