Boston (Sports Desk): In the opening match of the FIFA World Cup, the Norway national football team defeated the Iraq national football team by 4 goals to 1.
Norway’s star striker Erling Haaland delivered a brilliant performance, scoring two goals and playing a central role in his team’s victory.
The match began at a fast pace, and in the 29th minute Haaland opened the scoring to give Norway the lead. Just ten minutes later, Ayman Hussein equalized for Iraq.
Shortly before halftime, Haaland scored again, giving Norway a 2–1 lead at the break.
In the second half, Norway extended their dominance when Leo Østigård scored in the 76th minute to make it 3–1.
