California (Web Desk) — Google has further expanded its artificial intelligence capabilities by introducing a new feature for the YouTube video platform called “Ask YouTube,” aimed at making information discovery easier and more efficient.
Through this new feature, users will be able to type detailed or complex questions on any topic. In response, YouTube will not only recommend relevant videos but also provide a brief written summary and additional information. Users can ask follow-up questions for further clarification, making the experience feel similar to interacting with an intelligent assistant.
A key feature of the system is that it can take users directly to the specific part of a video where the requested information is located, eliminating the need to watch the entire video. For example, when searching for a particular location or travel tip within a travel video, the system can provide immediate access to the relevant segment.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced the feature during the company’s annual developer conference, stating that it will make access to information faster and more effective.
In the initial phase, the feature has been made available in the United States to YouTube premium subscribers aged 18 and above. According to the company, it will be expanded to other countries in the future.
Users will be able to activate the feature through their account settings. Once enabled, a new button will appear in the search interface, allowing them to choose from suggested questions or enter their own queries.
Experts believe that this new capability could transform the traditional way people search for information within videos, as users will be able to access specific information instantly instead of manually browsing through lengthy content.
