Lahore (Sports Desk) – Pakistan’s national Test cricket team, led by captain Babar Azam, will depart from Islamabad today for the West Indies tour, where Pakistan and the West Indies will play a two-match Test series.
The Pakistani team played a two-day practice match on Saturday, after which the players took rest on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed former international cricketer Mansoor Amjad as the fielding coach of the national Test team in place of Abdul Saad.
Initially, the PCB had appointed Shane McDermott as the fielding coach of the Pakistan Test team; however, he resigned after reaching Australia. His belongings are still in Lahore.
Apart from the inclusion of Mansoor Amjad in the team management, no other changes have been made. Sarfaraz Ahmed is serving as head coach, Asad Shafiq as batting coach, and Umar Gul as bowling coach.
Pakistan’s 16-member squad includes captain Babar Azam along with Shan Masood, Imam-ul-Haq, Azan Awais, Abdullah Fazal, Salman Ali Agha, Ghazi Ghori, Mohammad Rizwan, Sajid Khan, Ali Usman, Aamer Jamal, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Abbas, Ubaid Shah, Owais Zafar, and Khurram Shahzad.
